I’ve been on Google+ for about a year now and recently at PodCamp Western Mass #5 I attended a couple of Google+ sessions which renewed my interest in this social media.

Google+ helps you in many ways:

  • It’s part of the Google Suite of productivity products that can work together to help you keep your digital life organized and in the long run more productive.
  • Google ‘notices’ when you are using Google+ and will assist with Google rankings
  • Google can get into the private areas of FaceBook
  • Google+ allows for deeper conversations, more thought.  Think Science, artists, creatives, and thought leaders…don’t you want to be a part of that crowd?

One big take away, from PodCamp Western Mass #5 is that Google+ is = to ‘What do you think?’

This year PodCamp WesternMass will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at The Kittredge Center at Holyoke Community College. I’ve been attending PodCamps since 2007 and always find these ‘un-conferences’ to be informative, beneficial and fun.

Here’s a little video I put together to promote PodCamp WesternMass 2012:

I assisted a client to create a customized FaceBook image for her business page. Val Nelson is a career and business coach who makes it easy for her clients to find clarity and confidence so they can follow their hearts…and make a living.

Customizing your FaceBook page visually: attracts the readers’ eyes to your page,
it helps the reader relate to you on a personal level, and it should assist with boosting the Google search engine optimization for Val’s overall online presence.

Of course, having a beautiful image to work with really helps.  I was able to use the color element to work into the customized treatment of Val’s FaceBook page and further support her overall branding design.

What do you think of Val’s new FaceBook page? I would love to hear your comments.

I’ve been working with the members of my own Mastermind Group: two women with whom I have been meeting with-virtually- now for over a year.  We just launched our own website  MasterMind Meetups which is built to support you as you grow your business by integrating technology with networking.

Here, you no longer are limited physically when networking. We give you the opportunity to share, create and look into new mastermind formats, which enable you to create new alliances and accelerate your business.

We will assist you in connecting with others by:

  • Guiding you in choosing a Focus Level best suited to you.
  • Offering Group Forums for chatting, document storage, emails and an Interactive Community.
  • Pushing physical limitations and providing access to experts and information you might not otherwise encounter.
  • Sharing cutting-edge technology and tools to enable you to thrive within your mastermind network.

Allow us show you how-to use technology to connect virtually.

What a whirlwind conference!

Jam packed with fabulous people and information….going to conferences reminds me how much I love to learn. Add that to the MIT Microsoft NERD building and the view over the Charles River and it all adds up to a great weekend.

PCB5

In fact, much of the PodCampBoston 2010 was about social media.  Unlike PodCampBoston 2007 which focused on the production of podcasts, this year it was all about the application of podcasting, videocasting, blogging and all the social media and the applications of those media.

PCB5B

One very wonderful presentation [amongst so many] was given by Tamsen McMahon on Social Media. I liked this because it really pulls out the hype of social media and brings us back to the real reasons of ‘why’ to engage in social media.

With the upcoming WordCampNYC 2010 and some other projects I have been playing around with BuddyPress again.

ACoterie

Coterie is a French word for a group of people who associate closely, a clique or inner circle.  Seems a fitting name for an online community….@ least at this stage and until we get the final kinks worked out of the functionality of this type of community site and what we want to do with it.  I must say, Steve Bruner does great job explaining the installation of both WordPress and BuddyPress in this video.
