Just got back from a really refreshing day in Boston at WordCamp 2012.  It is always nice to meet new friends and hear about new ideas concerning WordPress plugins, templates, development, marketing, SEO, and design. It was less than a month ago that we checked out WordCamp NYC.  Now we have PodCamp Boston to look forward to this fall …which appears to be taking on a new look and feel: PodCamp East….which appears to be in Wilmington, DE.

I’m often asked how I keep abreast of the changes in technology.  Interest is my number one response.  Ever since earning my Masters Degree in Media Studies from The New School, NYC, I’m fascinated at how people use technology.  So, in order to keep current, I snoop around, ask questions, read a variety of blogs [like Mashable for example], and I attend  conferences and/or present at them.

Here’s a good article for those seeking to find some new digital media resources. 45 of them in fact.

Busy weekend.  I attended WordCamp Boston.  Lots of wonderful speakers and sessions.  Once session that stands out to me came from Jay Collier.  Jay spoke about Web Strategy in Higher Education his slide show has great examples.

As Jay so eloquently told us, we need to be moving toward the Federated Governance Concept whereas roles are distributed within the system and follow common vision and goals.  Teams, teams, teams.

Other wonderful sessions spoke about one of my favorite subjects revolving around online learning-mobile learning. I am still working out my notes on all that was communicated…most important confirmation I heard-the students want it and they will use it.
